I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how much I enjoyed
fishing the Slowhand Special you crafted for me. The Slowhand Special
is beautiful, the rod responded very well and presented a dry fly
beautifully. It more than met my expectations ".

" My new Niemiera "Brookie"Rod.
What a restless night I had even after a full day of fishing. My mind
was focused on the next day, the day I have been waiting for for the
past seven months. The day I get to pick up my first custom made bamboo
flyrod. Made to my specs not off the rack type. As I pulled up to
Johns house I felt like a sixteen year old out on his first date. John
was more than happy to give me a tour of his fine workshop. We talked
for a few going over the process of a rod being made, till it came time
he handed me my custom made maple hex case, and with a wink in his eye
he said "go ahead its your rod, open it !" I was so nervous I didn't
know what to do. I felt like an ass, or a newbie. Just then John
tossed me a reel , and said "Go ahead, go for it . " It only took me
about four casts till I harnessed the true power of this rod - truly
effortless casting, and this rod was made just for me. Its almost
unbelievable the way I felt this rod has become a part of me, and
myself a part of it. The custom wraps are so cool, one day I will pass this onto my sons.
Yes I have two sons, don't worry I have my eyes set on the nice slow
action of the "Gorge" model, or the "Slowhand Special", now that cast
like a dream. @@@@ here's one for you, I held a flyrod that dated
back to the 1800s, that is worth over $9000. You want to talk about
nervous ! John made me feel very important, I have heard so much good
about him, I have no question in my mind that John is one of the
leading rod makers in the world. And I am honored to have a "Niemiera"
that I can call my own "

" The rod casts as if
it were a part of my arm, its beautiful, a work of art . "

" Just a short note to
let you know I have done some hard fishing over the last few weeks, and
the performance has been great. I fished the "Slowhand Special" this
weekend on the river Nidd in the Yorkshire Dales. The rod is superb,
in both looks and performance. It did everything I asked of it - and
more. Even if it had any failings - which it didn't - it's stunning
good looks would have ensured instant forgiveness. It is a work of art
! I have a number of fly rods, both bamboo and carbon. My "Slowhand
Special" is my favourite - it performs beyond expectation, and is
beautiful to look at. Johns service is superb, Order one - you will not
be disappointed. "

" He loves it ! He
took it out as soon as he got home and was casting it, in the rain in
the back yard. He was throwing about sixty feet without breaking a
sweat. Very "responsive" , "spectacular" as Mike put it, and the word
"WOW" kept coming up. "

" I opened the tube just
a few hours ago here in my office. I did so after a meeting with a
small group of clergy...One of them is a passionate fly-fisherman who
owns several cane rods of various descriptions, and I invited him into
my office to "unveil" the anticipated prize. I was almost shaking as I
removed the snug ferrule plug, gently and slowly slid the butt section
of the rod from the cloth sack, smelled the fresh varnish, cradled the
grip in my hand ( a perfect fit ), took out the tip, and then pressed
ferrule into ferrule. A quick shake of the rod bought a smile and my
friend said "It's beautiful" "Yes it is" I responded as I handed it to
him to hold. Several others from the clergy then walked in along with
some of the staff as they knew the "Slowhand Special" had arrived. When
I gave them a capsule review of how a cane rod is made, the materials
involved, a quick tutorial on the cellular structure of cane, and then
some on the painstaking process of crafting the rod, they were in awe.
One priest said almost reverently, " I had no idea ". The next step is
great, I then went downstairs into my Cathedral with the rod and a fly
reel, strung the line through the guides, and proceeded to stand in the
center aisle facing the altar of my seven hundred seat church and with a
wave of the arm worked out the line into a smooth , fluid rhythm of a
cast. Pure delight ! I cannot wait to cast the rod on the water, but
I think it was significant that my first cast was in a Cathedral. I bet
you don't get many stories like this about your flyrods. But this is
mine, and I am grateful for your artistry. When I am on the stream I
will have a picture taken and send it to you. Thanks for everything !
Now I think I will go home and listen to some Derek and the Dominos or
Clapton Unplugged or something of that ilk. Peace !

"Everyone in our family owns a
Niemiera cane rod. We are all in agreement that what we have are works of
art that make catching trout enjoyable. You can feel at ease doing
business with John, your dealing with an Eagle Scout. "

"I drift a nymph over the stones inviting trout to visit me"
"A surprisingly powerful and easy casting rod. One of the
most accurate rods I have ever casted. I highly recommend a Niemiera
Bamboo Fly Rod. "

"Long before I came there, God made every stream I've entered a serene
work of art. The art of John Niemiera allows my hand to touch God's
piscatorial brilliance."

"Just wanted to thank you for making such a beautiful fly rod for me. The
most enjoyable thing is the sensitivity of this rod. You can feel every
move the fish makes, and that took me back. I am not used to that feeling.
Niemiera Fly Rods are a work of art, and I am deeply appreciative to be
lucky enough to own a bamboo fly rod of such quality."

"I'm still trying to get over the fact that I own such a
beautiful piece of workmanship. This cane rod, I can't believe how well I
can cast with it. I'm hoping Santa takes the hint and gets me a really
nice reel to go with it. Looking forward to the bamboo experience."
